Arithmetic problems

While teaching my niece this morning i got a term and thought that i should explore the term at least for improvement of my own general knowledge. The term i am talking about is arithmetic reasoning. So here i will confine myself with arithmetic reasoning only.

Arithmetic reasoning is not like hard math problems, if you know how to solve it, it becomes easier and also interesting. Without wasting much time i will first start with the meaning of the term. Arithmetic reasoning is that part of math which studies the use of arithmetic operations like addition, subtraction, division and multiplication.

We can use arithmetic reasoning in our real life problems also. There are certain formulas regarding arithmetic reasoning and these are as follows:

Commutative formula for addition: c+d = d+c
Commutative formula for multiplication: cd = dc
Associative formula for addition: (c+d)+e = c+(d+e)
Associative formula for multiplication: (cd)e = c(de)

These were the basic formulas of arithmetic reasoning, i am sure it will serve your great help. Next time will move on with some other topics, till then take care and enjoy math.
