Problem on Cross Multiplication

Solve the following equation on Algebraic Cross Multiplication:
6y-5/2y=7/9
Answer:
6y-5/2y=7/9
(6y-5)*9=7*(2y)
54y-45=14 y
54y-14y=45
40y=45
y=45/40
y=9/8
